I love waking up to the sound of rain tinkering on the roof.
Especially when it has been a while between showers.
Especially when the local fire-fighters have been fighting a fire for over a week now.
Especially when I look out the window, and everything looks swept clean.

I don't know what has gotten into me, but every time I wake up with the rain tinkering on the roof, it motivates my mood to clean the house. LOL, seriously! Plus, I tend to eat more during those times!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad it doesn't have that effect on me! lol
DeleteThat's quite hilarious, Max. :P I admit, I tend to eat more too when it's raining. Hehe. You gotta love hot noodles! By the way, what type of roof do you have, Melissa?
DeleteWe have tin roof Lenore, so it makes the best sound. :)
Deletealways make the best of every situation!!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with everyone here! There’s nothing like the sound of rain on the roof. It’s like a mellow melody to the ears. Right, Mel? I can even fall asleep from the sound of the rain hitting the tin roof above my head on a rainy day! What’s more, the tin roof is one of the more dependable and durable types of roofs. So you can be pretty sure you’re in good hands when you have one.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Lenore, Just as good as any lullaby.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way too, I love water! And listening to the rain pattering down on the roof at night makes me sleep. They are like the calming lullabies that your mother used to sing to you. It has a calming effect and cools the temperature on my room, so much so that I feel comfortable and I easily fall asleep.
ReplyDeleteWhen it rains, I listen to Enya, to which I then definitely fall asleep. Enya’s voice is calming and soothing, and so is the rain, because when I wake up, and I feel like I just had the most wonderful sleep. I just had my roof changed last week to a metal roof, and I like the sound of it of the pitter-patter of the rain. What kind of roof do you like when listening to the rain?
